Single ADM attached to a day shoe (Ambulatory)

Single ADM attached to a day shoe (Ambulatory) - Other shoe provided without ADM

A single ADM attached to a day shoe. Day footwear is provided by C-Pro Direct in pairs from Euro 18 (UK 2.5 child) up to Euro 39 (UK 6 adult), and are available in split sizes.

Ambulatory ADMs are suitable for a range of indications including relapsing Clubfoot (typically a supinated gait with poor stride length and inward rotation) and some neurological conditions (typically resulting in foot-drop and poor balance / endurance with other gait issues). Ambulatory ADMs will alter the gait to lengthen the stride, prevent foot-drop, improve heel-strike and reduce inward rotation at the hip and knee. Patients with neurological conditions often also report improved balance, endurance and confidence.

It is common for patients with neurological conditions to stand barefoot with a collapsed foot arch and hindfoot in valgus (over-pronation / flatfoot). These patients should use the Ambulatory ADM only with custom insoles fitted in the footwear made to neutralise the foot position when standing. This condition is illustrated in the video Ambulatory ADM Case Study - Partial Paralysis. Please contact us for advice if necessary. C-Pro Direct does not provide custom insoles.

C-Pro Direct uses certain types of shoes from New Balance, Reebok, and Ascent which are suitable for attaching ADM’s to. The shoes are provided by C-Pro Direct and should not be provided by the customer unless requested to do so by C-Pro Direct.

Choosing shoes:  C-Pro Direct is unable to advise on which shoe will be the best fit for a child. Instead C-Pro Direct will provide all information available from New Balance, Reebok and Ascent manufacturers to assist the customer in deciding which shoes will be most appropriate.  C-Pro Direct recommends that where possible, parents take their child to a shoe shop that sells New Balance or Reebok shoes, and tries them on for size before placing an order with C-Pro Direct.

If a customer does not supply a shoe size, but only a foot length, C-Pro Direct will use the manufacturers guides below to select a shoe size, but cannot guarantee these will be the best fit for the patient.

Customers can request a preferred colour(s). C-Pro Direct cannot guarantee this colour(s) will be provided, but will do their best to match this where possible and dependent on stock availability. Please note that some sizes are very limited in the colour options available.

If the patient has particularly wide or narrow feet, please indicate this in the additional information box.

C-Pro Direct usually provides shoes with laces, but if for any reason Velcro fasteners are needed instead, please indicate this in the additional information box when ordering.

How to get the right fit

First, don't measure your feet in the morning; feet often swell during the day due to heat and activity. For the best fit, measure your feet at the end of the day.

To measure your shoe size follow these instructions:

Place a piece of paper on the floor with one end against a wall. Stand on the piece of paper with your heel against the wall. Mark the piece of paper where your toes end with a pencil.

Measure from the end of the piece of paper to the mark you created with your pencil and compare the measurement to our sizing chart.

 Choose the right size

That's easier said then done. Because, what do you do if you are in between two sizes?

In this case it might be safest to go for the size up, rather than the size down.
